Tree preservation

TPO1 Eucalyptus camaldulensis, River Red Gum

IS THERE A TREE ON YOUR PROPERTY THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO PRESERVE?

Under the Town’s Local Planning Scheme No 10, Council may make a Tree Preservation Order on trees on private property.

The Town would like to hear from property owners who wish to nominate trees growing on their property that might be protected by a Tree Preservation Order.

Tree Preservation Orders would normally be made because of the tree's aesthetic quality, historical association, rarity, or other characteristic that makes the tree worthy of preservation.

Once a tree is protected by a Tree Preservation Order, a person may not cut, remove or destroy the tree without the approval of the Council. Please be aware, the location address of trees listed are publicly available on the Registry of Tree Preservation Orders.

Tree Preservation Orders are one way that could lead to the preservation of some of the most important tree canopy throughout the Town.

Should you wish to nominate your tree, please complete and submit the form accessible below under the 'Submit a Tree Preservation form' tab.

If you would like to submit your nomination in hard copy, please print and fill out the Tree Preservation Order Nomination Form available here. Hard copy forms may be posted to the Town at PO Box 87, Bassendean WA 6934, or handed in at the Customer Service Centre, 35 Old Perth Rd, Bassendean.
